DevOps Infrastructure Engineer
DevOps: Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d)
Stratio keeps public transport running. We monitor fleet health in real time and tell the world's largest operators exactly what's going to fail before it does.
The role
You’ll manage Stratio's infrastructure platform, ensuring that our technological environment supports the company's AI tools with stability, security and scalability.
In this role, you'll be a blend of pragmatic operator and engineer, focused on cloud and infrastructure, who applies sound engineering principles, operational discipline and mature automation to prepare and run the environment that hosts our AI solutions: spanning cloud, networking, Linux, data pipelines and container orchestration.
What your weeks look like
Platform and Infrastructure
You prepare, deploy and manage Stratio's cloud (compute, networking, storage) and Kubernetes infrastructure and the GitLab CI/CD platform (runners, workers, build agents) that the AI/ML platforms and their pipelines rely on, ensuring capacity, availability and performance.
Automation and Infrastructure
You run our infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes, and you document every action so findings turn into repeatable actions, and then into automation.
Observability, reliability and cost
You monitor performance, reliability and cost, applying observability and FinOps best practices.
You keep improving the observability of our platform and applications to make troubleshooting straightforward, alerting on symptoms and not on outages.
Integration with Stratio's systems
You ensure the integration of AI solutions with Stratio's existing systems and services.
Security and Compliance
You ensure compliance of our infrastructure with the ISMS (Information Security Management System) requirements, processes and standards.
What we're looking for
Must have:
BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, or a related field;
Solid experience operating and managing at least one Cloud environment (AWS, GCP or Azure), including compute, networking, storage and security services;
Strong foundation in Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, Ansible or similar);
Familiarity with container orchestration and containerization, especially Kubernetes and Docker;
Solid foundation in the deployment and management of large-scale Linux systems;
Experience collecting system and application metrics for observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Syslog or similar);
Understanding of large-scale complex systems from a reliability and cost perspective;
Experience managing security, secrets and access control (IAM) across cloud platforms;
SRE/DevOps experience and comfortable operating software in a Linux based environment;
Ability to work under pressure and flexibility for critical situations, including on-call;
Fluency in English.
Bonus points:
AWS certification;
Terraform certification;
Experience building CI/CD pipelines;
Experience with MQTT infrastructure;
Experience with distributed Database Systems;
Knowledge of highly available and scalable architectures for services deployed across multiple regions;
Understanding of how to manage/deploy an architecture for microservices (e.g. Apache Kafka);
Passion for solving problems using open source software.
What this is not
Not an AI or ML role. You'd build and run the infra the models stand on, the infra where the pipelines CI/CD works on.
Why this is interesting
You'd own the platform our AI actually runs on: cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD and observability at a company with real customers and models running in production on commercial fleets every day.
What we offer
Annual Gross Salary Band for the role: 22-30k€
Health Insurance to you and your children;
Fringe Benefits Policy (for Portugal located workers);
Flexible Work Hours - adjust your schedule to your needs;
22 vacation days, plus up to 3 extra time off days according to your tenure;
Hardware and software for a remote setup;
Quarterly Events to discuss Strategy;
Autonomy and Ownership Culture;
Continuous feedback culture;
Innovation Mindset;
Career Acceleration.
Location
This role can be performed remotely from Portugal, onsite, or on a hybrid setup in Coimbra, Portugal.
Regardless of the arrangement, availability to attend in-person meetings at our Coimbra office is expected when required. A minimum of once a month is expected.

AI-assisted CV review: summarizes and suggests points for the hiring team to consider and help the team review applications faster; it does not make or influence hiring decisions.
Profile anonymization: your name, gender, and other personal identifiers are hidden during early screening to avoid bias.
Interview transcription: interviews may be recorded and transcribed to help our team focus on the conversation, with your consent.
Every decision about your application is made by a person from the hiring team. These tools assist our hiring team, they don't replace them.
